Apollo Future Mobility Group (AFMG)

Apollo Future Mobility Group (AFMG) is a Hong Kong firm specialised in automotive technology best known for its Apollo IE supercar. Valued at 2.7 million USD a piece, this iconic vehicle features the world’s first carbon fibre chassis, which is more durable than – and weight only a tenth of – the aluminium chassis typically used in race cars. The company also developed a super fast charging automobile technology which is 3 times faster than Tesla.

AFMG retained Straight to create a video to be shown to global investors as part of AFMG’s IPO. In addition to containing clips provided by the company, the video featured interviews we conducted with Mr. Ho King Fung (Chairman of AFMG) and Mr. Richard Sung (CEO of AFMG). We overcame the fact Mr. Ho was in Guangzhou being by working with one of our regular China-based production partners, in essence remotely directing the filming of the interview from Hong Kong. In addition to demonstrating our typical flexibility and creativity, this video furthers shows our ability to source partners in China across all aspects of content production .

LinkSoul

LinkSoul develops cutting-edge AI solutions for real estate sectors such as smart office and real estate. Its expertise ranges from using intelligent equipment to manage smart buildings to installing systems that drive retail sales in locations such as Shanghai’s Pudong Airport.

As its systems are complex, LinkSoul retained Straight to produce a video that would help investors better understand what LinkSoul does. After spending significant efforts ourselves to get up to speed on LinkSoul, we decided to use a “day-in-the-life” narrative to present the company’s capabilities in a clear and simple format accessible to all. Using modelling and visualisation techniques, we illustrated how the daily work life of a young female professional was enhanced by Smart OfficeTech and PropTech, 2 of LinkSoul’s main areas of expertise. Using cyber-like visuals to deliver a futuristic vibe, we scouted a fitting filming location whilst simultaneously creating animation to delivering a compelling visual experience on time and within budget.

Design Institute of Social Innovation

Based in Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, the Jockey Club Design Institute of Social Innovation (JCDISI) explores how design thinking and innovation, can help develop solutions to solve social problems spanning multiple sectors.

Keen to showcase its accomplishments over the last 3 years, JCDSI retained Straight Communications to produce a video report featuring JCDSI’s various projects within a coherent narrative. Weaving event clips sourced from JCDISI together with interviews conducted by our team, Straight crafted a cohesive visual testimony, using storytelling techniques and visual presentation to amplify the organisation’s message. This project demonstrated Straight’s main quality: our ability to execute top-notch, end-to-end productions efficiently, smoothly, on time and on (tight!) budget.

Softhard

Softhard uses cutting-edge IOT technology to manage properties, from managing access to buildings to monitoring water and electricity usage. Straight was asked to produce a video for the company’s landing page.

Featuring a few speakers and tailor-made animated infographics, the video is to be used both on the landing page of Softhard’s website and – in a condensed version – in presentations. A professional animator was retained to handle the post-production work needed to ensure the animation coherently conveys the right information as succinctly as possible. We are proud to have delivered an entertainingly informative video using a small crew and featuring original animation, all within a very tight schedule.
